Mike Omeri, the national security spokesman, made this known on March 11 and expressed hope that with such a development the dreaded sect would be defeated soon.
PM News reports with reference to Omeri’s words that 4 towns have fallen since last Friday.
The official noted that “co-operations and alliances” resulted in the successful outcome of the operations and thanked the neighbours for cutting off “the supply lines of the terrorists”.
“It is hoped that the unfolding regional cooperation will hasten the total defeat and extermination of Boko Haram in Nigeria and the sub-region.”
It is worth noting that Boko Haram has recently announced allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS), one of the most powerful terrorist groups in the world.
Some experts believe that it is an extremely dangerous development, while the others think that it is a desperate attempt by Boko Haram to restate its position
