Gunmen Kill One, Injures Several Others in Kaduna

It was a bloody Tuesday morning for the resident of Angwan Dauda community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as gunmen reportedly killed a mother of two children and injured scores of people.
A resident of the community, who gave his name as Mr. Bezard, confired to Leadership, that the assailants stormed the village in the early hour of Tuesday less than 24 hours after the visit of the state deputy governor, Amb. Nuhu Audu Bajoga.
It was gathered that Bajoga, visited Tattauru in Sanga LGA where unknown gunmen killed no fewer than 10 people during the Christmas celebration last Saturday night.
The deputy governor reportedly pleaded with the people to be calm and prayerful as well as allow peace to reign.
Bajoga, however, expressed disappointment that another community could be attacked so soon despite the recent agreement signed by various ethnic groups, women, youths, community leaders and stakeholders to halt attacks.
He assured sanga people of government’s commitment towards protecting their communities, and hinted that security has been beefed up in the area following the incident.
The deputy governor advised the people not to desert their communities, as they were expected to stay and help the security operatives with intelligence reports that would lead to the arrest of the assailants.
“The government sympathizes with you over what happened this festive season. But it is surprising because only recently, I was here and the various communities signed agreement to live in peace with one another,” Bajoga said.
It would be recalled that a pastor identified as Mike Maikarfi said a group of gunmen on Saturday, stormed Tattaura Village in Kaduna State, when the community was having a post-Christmas celebration and killed ten people.
Meanwhile, security has been reportedly enhanced in Sanga LGA, after the recent attacks by yet to be identified gunmen.
