Fayemi Finally Accuses Fayose

Ekiti State former Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has opened up on his four year term as the state governor and made accusations against the present administration of Governor Ayo Fayose.
Speaking for the first time on a special programme on Akure, Ondo State-based radio station, ADABA 88.9 FM, Friday evening which was monitored by The Nation correspondent in Ado-Ekiti, the former governor explained that his response was propelled by the several allegations leveled against him by the new administration.
Fayemi, who left office more than two months ago, debunked many allegations leveled against him and accused Fayose of elevating falsehood and deceit, noting that it is an official policy of his successor’s administration.

He maintained that the total amount of debt he left behind for his successor was N36 billion contrary to Fayose’s claim of a whopping N85 billion.

Fayemi also denied Fayose’s allegation that he (Fayose) left N10. 4 billion in the government coffers shortly after he was impeached from office in October 2006, adding that available records revealed that Fayose left N3.5 billion and a lot of contractor obligations behind after his impeachment in the aforementioned year.

The ex-governor further disclosed that the actual cost of the new Government House otherwise known as the Ayoba Villa is N2.1 billion.

Fayemi insisted that the cost of the Ayoba Villa, which is being presently overlaid with marble by the present administration, was lower than other newly-constructed Government Houses in other states of the federation.
