According to Transparency International (TI), Nigeria is the 136th most corrupt country in the world, and the 3rd most corrupt in West Africa.
Leadership reports
that “the 2014 Transparency International Corruption Perception
Index ranked 174 countries it surveyed based on how corrupt their public
sector is presumed to be.”
The measurement is based on a scale of 0
to 100 with a 0 score perceived as “highly corrupt” and 100 score –
“very clean”. Nigeria was ranked 136th with an index score of 27.
Denmark was ranked as the least corrupt
country in the world, while Somalia and North Korea are ranked as the
most corrupt nations in the world.
