Ogun: Pro–Osoba lawmakers vow to stop moves to impeach Deputy Governor

Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly loyal to ex-governor, Olusegun Osoba have vowed to resist any attempt by pro Amosun lawmakers to impeach the state Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun, as the leader of the opposition in the House, Hon. Remmy Hassan, said his team will be waiting for such an attempt to impeach the deputy governor.
Prince Adesegun, stirred the honest nest weeks back when he wrote a well publicised letter to the state governor, accusing him of sideling him and treating him with contempt. He belonged to the Olusegun Osoba faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC before the factions move to the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Investigations reveal that pro-Amosun lawmakers are said to be waiting in the wings to impeach the Deputy Governor the moment he formally declares for the SDP.

According to a Vanguard report, the task of impeaching the Deputy Governor maybe an uphill task as the 26 member house is evenly divided between pro-Osoba and Pro Amosun lines.
Hassan said: “It will be practically difficult to impeach the deputy governor, because there is no constitutional breach. Except the constitution is amended; however, everybody is awake even while asleep.
“We have 13 members each on both sides. But the other 13 loyal to the governor is at a disadvantage, because the principal officer, the Speaker, is on their side and he could not vote but only preside.
“Moreover, it would amount to shadow chasing to seek for an impeachment in the House you don’t have control over.”
